Makeson DrinxoN Liquors

Every Creative remembers their first job. The long hours, the low pay, the overbearing bosses. As an absurd reflection of our own struggles, my team and I created a fictional beverage company, for which we produce branded content on a shoestring budget. This is Makeson Drinxon Liquors, the story of three young Creatives trying to find their way in the high-stakes, high-pressure world of content creation.

At the start of our tale, Makeson Drinxon Liquors "contracts" my team to produce product-enriched material for an alcoholic beverage that no one would ever consume: Makeson Drinxon Liquors' Tequila & Brandy.

Yes. It's exactly what it sounds like: a total disaster for everyone involved.

The Wide World of Makeson Drinxon is an immersive multimedia experience, spanning multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Our story utilizes the interactive nature of the internet to create an entire comedic universe, encouraging viewers to question the veracity of what they see and to investigate it further.

We created a series of absurd video spots aimed at making happy consumers painfully aware of problems they didn't know they had.

We titled it the "What You Didn't Know You Always Wanted," campaign.

There Could Be No Way of Knowing

We created a short film entitled "John Brames John Cannot Be Stopped," A secret agent spoof with the sole purpose of injecting as much product-enriched content into a narrative as possible.

What ensued was a comedic mish-mosh of action, adventure, and branding.

"When the President's secret Tequila & Brandy recipe is stolen, the world's nuclear arsenal is in danger of being next. Only one man can save us all... John Brames John."  

We also created a mockumentary about ourselves producing John Brames John Cannot be Stopped, entitled, "Makesing the Brand."

A play on the early 2000's show Making the Band, the show features the struggling young creatives themselves, the eccentric star of the film, and (in the style of P. Diddy) the demanding and irritable C.E.O. of the liquor company, J. Louis Reilly.

We also created a set of print ads designed to show the absurd lengths the company will go to in marketing their product. As a satire of the Machiavellian tactics some clients are willing to employ, we created a campaign which actually promotes drin…
